Founded in London in 1858, John E Fells is one of the leading independent fine wine importers in the UK. The company is owned by Symington Family Estates, producers of Cockburn's, Graham’s, Dow’s and Warre’s Ports, and, together with Miguel Torres (producers of the leading Spanish wines Sangre de Toro and Vina Sol), are long standing shareholders in the company. In 2018 the Hill Smith family, owners of the Yalumba and Oxford joined the company giving it an unrivalled position in the premium sector of the market. In 2017 Fells moved to their new modern offices in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire and employs some 60 staff, engaged in the sales, marketing and distribution of wines, spirits and gift packs. The Fells team deal with all sectors of the UK wine trade, including supermarkets, department stores, cash and carries, off licences, restaurants and hotels. They also engage in the production of alcohol related gift boxes.

Fine Wines Direct UK is a long-established importer with our own bonded warehouse facility. We import iconic wines directly from all around the world, and supply locally and nationally to the best of the hospitality industry and specialised retailers. We are very proud to have been working for many years with some of the most prestigious wineries in Spain, France, South America and New Zealand. We act as agents and distributors for Allan Scott from New Zealand, Marques de Caceres Excellens Rioja Spain, the Los Picos, Paso Ancho, Lunaka ranges from Chile, Maison Mazilly Burgundy, Chateau du Seuil from Graves. Recent addition to our portfolio include the wines from Adega Camolas y Matos in Portugal, Torre la Moreira Albarino from Marques de Vizhoja-Rias Baixas, and the renowned Escorihuela Gascon winery from Mendoza Argentina as well as the very interesting wines from Stone Castle based in Kosovo All these wines are available duty paid, under bond or Ex cellar.
